Secondary consultation may involve a single discussion around general issues or a specific situation, or may be ongoing. In some cases, it may be beneficial for an EDAS counsellor to attend one or more sessions with both the worker and client, and may also include referral to an EDAS counsellor. Specialist Training
EDAS offers training on a range of substance-related topics. We periodically run a one and a half day program, which presents a practical introduction to key information and skills that are useful in working with clients who use alcohol or other drugs. We also develop training packages that are tailored to the needs of specific agencies or sectors. These packages vary in length and content as required. While our main focus in on the training needs of workers within our region, we are also able to conduct training in other areas where appropriate.
